By centering Palestinian liberation, we call out and fight against the rippling injustices that inspire from the Israeli occupation, apartheid, and genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. We do so by dropping Total Surveillance City, by canceling Google and Amazon’s contract with Israel called Project Nimbus, by stating: #NoTechForApartheid, and No Tech for Genocide!
Google is complicit in the ongoing genocide of the Palestinians.
Through Project Nimbus, a 1.2 billion contract to provide cloud technology to the Israeli government and military, Google is directly profiting off of the current indiscriminate Al-powered bombing campaign taking place in Palestine. On top of that, Google is also proudly investing another $4million to create support funds for Israeli tech firms/AI startups as the war on Gaza continues. The company has also donated millions of dollars to Israeli emergency efforts.
Google is directly complicit in the genocide of Palestinians and in maintaining the ongoing apartheid system.
On February 13th, UK workers from @google @amazon @workers4pal @utaw_uk & @palestinesolidarityuk organised a public teach-in outside of Google UK HQ King’s Cross & St Pancreas to raise awareness about Google’s complicity in the zionist genocide and war crimes currently taking place in Gaza. Googlers inside the office distributed flyers and had conversations with their coworkers to engage workers in education around the impacts of our labor.
We refuse to stand by and allow big tech to fuel state violence across the world. As Google profits continue to increase while the genocide continues, we demand an immediate end to all contracts and sales with Israel. Drop Project Nimbus now!

Last November, thousands of high school students walked out of school to demand a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and an end to the siege. This FRIDAY FEBRUARY 16, we will take the streets again!
The youth of Gaza are being murdered by the thousands.
They are being targeted by the Zionist regime because they represent the future of Palestinian society. We want all youth and all students to be able to live in dignity, to pursue education, and to be free!

As the genocide in Gaza continues, more and more tech workers are looking for ways to bring Palestine solidarity to their workplaces. But what to do if your company isn’t actively doing business with the Israeli military? The ongoing Palestine liberation movement teaches us that war profiteering, imperialism, and militarism are the bedrock of occupation in Palestine and elsewhere. By bringing their Palestine solidarity to their workplaces, tech workers are engaging their leadership and co-workers to examine the tech industry’s complicity.

In the 1970s, Polaroid workers with the Polaroid Revolutionary Workers Movement (PRWM) organized to end Polaroid's complicity in South Africa's oppressive apartheid government. After years of boycotts, protests, and disruptions from workers and allies, the Polaroid corporation bowed to workers demands and became the first major U.S. company to cut ties with apartheid South Africa.
Decades later, tech workers learn from the radical legacy of the PRWM and demand an end to our companies' complicity in the Israeli apartheid regime. Workers with #NoTechForApartheid are building labor power and organizing alongside allies to fight Project Nimbus, @Google and @Amazon $1.2B contract with the Israeli government and military. Just as the Polaroid workers did decades ago, today's tech workers can and will win our fight against our technology used for apartheid and genocide.

@GOOGLE & @AMAZON ARE ENABLING THE FIRST AI-POWERED GENOCIDE.
Over the last 100+ days, Israel has escalated its assault on Gaza in what's being called the first AI-facilitated genocide in human history. @amazon @google & companies across tech have powered the current genocide of Palestinians in Gaza & the surveillance & oppression of Paletinians across historic Palestine for years, revving up Israel's genocide machine that has led to the murder of 32K+ Palestinians, according to @euromedhr.
Last November, a @972mag investigation revealed the Israeli military’s use of a new AI-based system called Habsora (“The Gospel”) to automatically generate bombing targets & kill Palestinians in Gaza at an unprecedented rate.
Google & Amazon are also providing powerful AI tech to the Israeli military through the $1B Project Nimbus contract, which was signed while Israel dropped bombs on Gaza during its May 2021 assault.
In 2022, a @theintercept investigation confirmed @Google is offering advanced AI & machine-learning capabilities to Israel via Nimbus. The docs indicate that the new cloud would include facial detection tech & even sentiment analysis that claims to “assess the emotional content of pictures, speech & writing” to Israel. Any of these capabilities supercharge Israel’s ability to surveil Palestinians & collect/process data on Palestinians—key strategies of the Israeli occupation.

@middleeasteye featured UK @google tech worker organisers with the @NoTechForApartheidUK campaign and the vigil they held in honour of Mai Ubeid, a software engineer in a Google-backed internship who was martyred in an Israeli airstrike earlier this month, along with her family.
Google and @sundarpichai have remained silent and have yet to even publicly acknowledge the death of Mai - a beloved member of the Google community.
Tech workers organised the vigil outside of Google’s HQ by King’s Cross station, to honour Mai and the thousands of other Palestinians murdered in the genocide that has unfolded in Gaza. The vigil for Mai included an interfaith ceremony featuring prayers and readings from both an imam and a rabbi, reciting the Quran alongside Jewish liturgy.
