In June, Google signed a $45M ads contract with the Israeli government to spread propaganda which denied Israel’s genocide & forced starvation of Palestinians in Gaza. When Google & YouTube signed this deal, they knew exactly what its purpose was: to cast doubt on the deliberate starvation and suffering in Gaza and actively enable Israel’s crimes against humanity.
Despite over 70k complaints filed, @google leadership demanded that the Trust & Safety team NOT touch or take down the Israeli propaganda ads, even as they deny the apartheid state’s campaign of ethnic cleansing and famine. @google told workers that these video ads are “not in scope” of Google’s own policies—policies which ban ads that show “Dangerous or Derogatory Content, Shocking Content, Sensitive Events, and Unreliable Claims.”
By platforming these ads, Google has turned its back on its own workers and terms of services and even risks violations to international law. As if this weren’t enough, the company has taken even more steps to entrench themselves in Israel’s genocide.
In early October, @youtube wiped the accounts of three Palestinian human rights groups: @al_haq_organization, @almezancenter, and @pchrgaza. More than 700 videos documenting testimonies from tortured Palestinians, investigations of killed journalists, and numerous other crimes disappeared overnight. As the ICC issued charged Israeli officials with war crimes in Gaza, YouTube targeted the very organizations working with the ICC.
This is a text book case of manufacturing consent, and @google executives have made their motives clear: as long as they turn a profit, they will use every means at their disposal to enable Israel’s genocide of Palestinians.

@google began the year with AI principles which promised its technology wouldn’t be used in the development of weapons, stating that it would not engage in the creation of “weapons or other technologies whose principal purpose […] is to cause […] injury to people.” By February these same promises had disappeared, mere weeks into the return of Trump’s fascist administration to the White House.
This month, we see why: the Department of War—what we previously called the Department of Defense before the Trump administration changed its name this past September—recently announced the launch of its own bespoke AI platform, one designed to power a variety of capabilities for the U.S. military. The backbone for this platform is none other than @googlecloud Gemini.
Google has operated in violation of its anti-weaponry AI principles long before these statements disappeared from its website: with AI and cloud support for Israel’s genocidal army via Project Nimbus, infrastructure for Customs and Border Patrol’s round-the-clock surveillance, and a partnership with defense contractor Lockheed Martin, Google has always sought out the blood money of genocide and violence. This new partnership with the Department of War only proves what we have always known.
The writing on the wall is clear: Google is a war and genocide profiteer.

TORONTO SAYS NO TECH FOR
APARTHEID-On November 29th, on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People and the day after Black Friday, the Toronto community took over the streets of the city of Toronto, demanding the end of Canadian complicity on the genocide in Gaza, and to implement a two ways arms embargo. We also passed in front of Amazon’s offices in Toronto, we demand the end of tech companies complicity, where companies, like Amazon and Google are empowering the genocide by providing cloud services and Al capabilities through their 1.2B$ project Nimbus. A project that is providing cloud services and tools to the Israeli government, Israeli military and Israeli arms companies to help carrying on with the genocide in Gaza.
Amazon workers in Canada with No Tech for Apartheid do not want their labor to power Israel’s genocide in Gaza. As Amazon enjoys one of its highest sales seasons of the year this weekend, Amazon workers - from the corporate offices to the warehouses - are coming together at actions across the world to make it loud and clear: workers across Amazon’s supply chain and demand that Amazon corporation end its complicity in the genocide of the Palestinian people. On Friday, 28th November, Berlin took to the streets as part of the global Make Amazon Pay mobilization.
Along with community organizers, we protested infront of the newly built “Amazon-Tower” in Berlin to demonstrate against its complicity in the Isreali genocide of Palestinians.
The day of the protest also coincided with the general strike in Italy in solidarity with Palestine. Italian workers show us what we as workers can achieve when we come together to build power.

Amazon reported $59 billion in profits last year, profits it seeks to increase through increasing engagement with the military industrial complex.
As new layoffs were announced this year, it becomes clear that Amazon’s workers are treated as disposable while its war profiteering is not.

Cyber Monday Sale! Let’s take a look at some of Amazon’s biggest deals…
1. Military Contracts: Amazon & Google have signed Project Nimbus, providing the Israeli government with AI and cloud infrastructure to surveil all forms of Palestinian life and enable occupation and genocide. Most recently, AWS has become the data home for Israel’s cyber warfare agency Unit 8200, storing millions of recorded phone calls by Palestinians which have been used to plan airstrikes in Gaza and conduct arrests in the West Bank.
2. Deportation Platforms: defense contractor Palantir reported using AWS as early as 2018 to house data for ICE’s Investigation Case Management system, storing public, private, and biometric information to track and deport undocumented communities. This is only one of Amazon’s reported ties to ICE, which includes a $100M joint contract expected to have been signed in 2020.
3. Surveillance Technology: Amazon is partnering with police-tech company Flock Safety, enabling police precincts to request Amazon Ring owners’ private security footage. Flock is known for using its network of 80K+ license plate readers to hunt abortion seekers across state lines and share camera data with ICE. Amazon’s addition of facial recognition to Ring deepens the police’s ability to criminalize vulnerable people in their own neighborhoods.

Amazon’s surveillance empire is vast — and it hurts all of us.
Amazon is the tech powerhouse behind DHS and hosts the Palantir-designed Investigative Case Management system ICE uses to track and target people for deportation. Customs and Border Protection relies heavily on Amazon Web Services (AWS – AKA Amazon’s cloud services), and has 62% of its systems on Amazon’s servers as of January 2023, according to an agency solicitation document. This “includes 73 application components determined to be High Value Assets and critical to the ongoing success of CBP’s mission.”
Via Project Nimbus, Amazon has played an active role in Israel’s genocide of Palestinians in Gaza by providing its own technology and cloud storage capacity to Israel, allowing the IDF to ‘click’ to ‘order information’ about virtually every Palestinian in Gaza. What’s more, Amazon has been directly selling war technology to third-party Israeli military contractors throughout Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Without continued access to AWS the document states, “DHS and CBP would experience catastrophic, nation-wide outage impacts.”
From the U.S. to Palestine, solidarity is the answer. As Amazon enjoys one of its highest sales volume seasons of the year, Amazon workers — from the corporate offices to the warehouses — are coming together to make it loud and clear: workers across Amazon’s supply chain and organizing together against Amazon-powered state violence, and demand that the corporation end its complicity in global oppression.

@Google is integral to ICE’s detention-deportation machine and its operations in kidnapping our neighbors.
In deliberate support of Trump’s campaign to target, detain, and deport our undocumented neighbors, Google is now: 1) removing community safety apps that report on ICE raids from its platforms, 2) complying with administrative subpoenas from the feds, and 3) helping the Trump administration deploy AI along the Mexican border.
Google’s latest compliance with fascism is not an accident but a result of deliberate choices by company executives to prioritize profit over people. These choices include Project Nimbus, Google and Amazon’s 1.2 billion dollar contract to supply AI and cloud technology to the Israeli state and military as it commits genocide in Gaza.
Undocumented neighbors, student activists turned political targets, and Palestinians under siege are the TRULY vulnerable groups in our communities. What ties these stories together is compliance: Big Tech doing whatever the state asks, even when it endangers lives. We must organize against every one of Google’s fascist ties, because protecting one of us means protecting us all.
Tech workers must refuse complicity in building the technology that is currently powering deportations, genocide, and state violence across the globe.
Workers have immense power to make change—but only if we come together with our coworkers and get organized.

NEW—@Amazon does business with Israel’s bomb-makers as it powers Israel’s genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.
Statement from Amazon workers with #NoTechForApartheid:
New reporting from @TheIntercept just confirmed: Two of Israel’s premier state-owned military companies, Israel Aerospace Industries and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, are now verified as obligatory customers of Amazon Web Services via Project Nimbus. These two Israeli military companies are also the biggest contributors of drones and weapons to Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Rafael has reported record revenues in both 2023 & 2024, which its executives explicitly attribute to Israel’s assault on Gaza.
Rafael, in particular, has been a key player. In September 2024, Israel bombed a refugee camp with a Rafael bomb that could flatten a suburban block. The attack, condemned by the UN, killed at least 19 Palestinians. Israel also used a drone-launched Rafael missile to kill seven World Central Kitchen aid workers.
This revelation shows how cloud contracts like Project Nimbus obscure the tech supply chain for military partnerships. This is by design. The model of supplying consumer & AI techn to militaries via “generic” cloud computing contracts helps tech executives obfuscate accountability and deny us, the workers who actually build the technology, a say in the impact of our labor. These contracts only serve to further enrich our Big Tech billionaire bosses at the cost of Palestinian lives.
We will not stand for our labor contributing to Israel’s ongoing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, nor for Israel’s illegal occupation of the West Bank and apartheid regime. We did not sign up to work for a military contractor or to help power state violence across the globe.
That’s why we’re organizing against Amazon’s surveillance empire, and the tech we build being used for deportation, apartheid, & genocide — from the US to Palestine.

@google leadership told workers that any video ads from Israel making claims about food, famine or humanitarian aid in Gaza are “not in scope” of Google’s own policies banning ads that show “Dangerous or Derogatory Content, Shocking Content, Sensitive Events, and Unreliable Claims,” and as such don’t constitute violations.
This is outright complicity in whitewashing and manufacturing consent for genocide.
Google entered this $45M ads deal with full knowledge of its purpose: to enable Israel’s crimes against humanity by casting doubt on the starvation in Gaza. Israel has deliberately starved millions of Palestinians in Gaza, creating a catastrophic famine confirmed & declared “entirely man-made” by the IPC. And under Article 25 of the Rome Statute, platforming these ads could be considered public incitement of genocide — a blatant violation of international law.
To bolster internal organizing efforts, Google workers with #NoTechForApartheid built a tool (notechforapartheid.com/ ads) to mass-report the ads, and as of today, the action has reached almost 60,000 reports, signaling immense public outcry.
Google is a genocide profiteer who is now enabling Israel in two ways: 1) providing a global platform to spread its propaganda to whitewash and cover up its genocide, apartheid, and colonial occupation of Palestine and 2) providing Al & cloud technology via Project Nimbus, the $1.2 billion Al and cloud computing contract Google and Amazon have with the Israeli military and government.
