Action days against EPH already reached 6 countries‼️ During last few days we have seen actions in Germany, Czech republic, Italy, France, Netherlands and United Kingdom. All of them under the slogan Exploitation, Pollution, Hypocrisy mocking the name of the fossil giant EPH owned by czech oligarch Daniel Křetínský. This company is Europe’s biggest coal miner, one of the three biggest CO2 emitter in whole Europe and also a biggest developer of new gas power plants. And almost nobody knows them! 🌑 That is why Fridays for Future Germany organized a protest in Dresden, exposing the dirty practices of coal miner LEAG, affiliated company to EPH. ⚒️❌ That is why Fridays for Future Czech republic organized the toxic garbage tour against plans to extend landfill by waste company AVE CZ, also owned by Daniel Křetínský. 🚮🚛 That is why locals from Sardinia organized sit-in protest in front of the coal power plant Fiume Santo, that EPH subsidiary EP Produzione plan to rebuild into big gas power plant. ☣️ That is why climate groups in UK occupied the lobby of the company EP Investment UK, subsidiary of EPH. 📉 That is why locals living close to Gardanne biomass power plant, operated by EPH owned company GazelEnergy, dropped the banner in Provence. 🌳 Students in Brno (Czechia) made relationship between EPH and law faculty visible by placing the statues of Daniel Křetínský around the university. Fossil corporation EPH is buying their public image through academic sphere.😤 And that is why Extinction Rebellion Netherland blocked the entrance of ING bank headquarters in Amsterdam. ‼️ EPH - one of Europe’s biggest polluters also known as Exploitation, Pollution, Hypocrisy - has been cooperating with law faculty in Brno since 2021. They are funding the faculty energy and law teaching program, offering internship for students. 🏭 Students in Brno are making this relationship visible by placing the statues of Daniel Křetínský around the faculty. Fossil corporation EPH is buying their public image through academic sphere. We call on the faculty to end its cooperation with EPH and distance itself from the fossil fuel industry, that is the main cause of climate crisis. 🌎🛑 📢 Students: take action. Today, the local movements from Sardinia organized a sit-in protest in front of the Fiume Santo coal power plant owned by Daniel Křetinský✊ What is Křetinský’s interest in Sardinia? Fiume Santo is one of the power plants under EPH subsidiary: EP Produzione, one of Křetinský’s energy companies operating in Italy🏭 The plant was supposed to shut down in 2025, but Křetinský has other plans: to transform this coal-fired power plant into gas, which is part of a bigger plan to bring gas infrastructure to the Sardinian island⚒️ Fiume Santo is located near Porto Torres, one of the most polluted places in Sardinia: listed among the most contaminated sites on the island with severe health risks for local people🚱💥 The same has happened in Mantova (North of Italy), where the Ostiglia power plant is being transformed into a gas plant even against strong protests from the local environmental movement⚠️ This has to STOP! No more new gas infrastructure while the planet is burning! Křetínský hands of Sardinia and the whole of Europe! ‼️ Later in the week, the local movement is organizing a public meeting to rise awerness about Křetinský´s dirty business practices and the case of Fiume Santo💚
France joined the action days💪 Local activists from Provence did a banner drop near the Gardanne thermal power plant (South of France), belonging to the GazelEnergie: a sub-company of fossil-fuel giant EPH, owned by a Czech billionaire Daniel Křetinský. Local people also distributed 300 fliers at the Gardanne train station🌲❗️ The Gardanne Power Station was transformed from coal into a biomass unit, but was this transition really "green"? The answer is NO, and here is why❌ - It burns wood from Italy and Spain, coming from 400 km around Gardanne: Cévennes, Lozère, (4,000 impacted municipalities)🚱 - It destroys biodiversity and treats forests simply as industrial resources🍂 - It has an efficiency of only 23%, whereas Europe requires at least 36% for electricity without cogeneration🪫📉 Local environmental groups have been fighting this case since 2012💚 Their demands are✊: STOP at the GazelEnergie-EPH biomass plant! Why are they targeting ING in the protest against EPH?👇 Just like all other fossil empires, EPH couldn't ruin the climate if banks and investors didn't enable it. ING is financing EPH in direct and and indirect ways. Untill it stops sponsoring Křetínský, ING is complicit in both the climate crisis and the erosion of democracy that EPH is responsible for. EPH's branch in Netherlands is running two gas-fired electricity plants near Rotterdam harbor. They're also running a joint venture cwith the Dutch energy concern Eneco called Enecogen. Toxic garbage tour against EPH and AVE CZ in Prague‼️ Owner of the fossil company EPH, czech oligarch Daniel Křetínský owns also big waste company AVE CZ. Fridays for Future Czech republic organized toxic garbage tour in Prague directly to the headquarters of the AVE CZ company, where they symbolically establish a landfill. This company is accused by czech state for not paying the landfill fees as they strip municipalities for 150 millions Euros. 💰💰💰 Even though they plan to extend their landfills in various cities, not following the EU policy to end all waste disposal until 2030. People in Čáslav were able to stand against this company and stop the extension in local referendum.
